이 칼럼에서 저는 거창한 구호보다 사실과 논리로 말하고자 합니다. 누군가의 이름표를 공격하기보다, 헌법 가치와 상식을 흔드는 반자유·반법치의 행태, 국민을 편 가르고 두려움을 조장하는 선동, 권력을 방패 삼아 책임을 회피하는 위선을 구체적으로 짚겠습니다. 국가 공동체를 약화시키는 움직임이 어떤 방식으로 스며들고, 어떤 대가를 남기는지—자료와 사례를 통해 차분하지만 단호하게 드러내겠습니다.

Hello, and thank you for having me. Starting today, I’ll be walking this path with you through this column.
The foundation I believe in is simple: freedom is never free, and justice does not stand on its own. Individual rights and responsibilities, equality before the law, legitimacy of due process, and the minimum civic promise that allows differing views to coexist—these are the pillars of liberal democracy.

In this column, I intend to speak with facts and reason, not empty slogans. Rather than pushing labels that breed hostility, I will focus on conduct that undermines constitutional values and common sense—anti-freedom, anti-rule-of-law practices, manipulation that divides citizens and weaponizes fear, and hypocrisy that hides behind power to evade accountability. I will examine, calmly but firmly, how corrosive forces seep into society and what costs they leave behind—grounded in evidence, context, and real cases.

But I will not stop at criticism. I also want to ask what we must strengthen to protect freedom, how our institutions should operate, and how civic discourse can remain principled and dignified. My hope is that these pieces become not a spark for anger, but a shield that helps readers discern truth and defend liberty.

I will write each installment with sincerity. I will meet readers where they are—yet I will not retreat from core principles.
